You are certainly correct about the carbon capture scam. It's an extraordinary waste of effort and resources.

Still, it may be that humans must try everything else before finally recognizing the laws of thermodynamics and taking action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and, eventually, using the heat already added to the atmosphere and the ocean for generating power and storing the remaining excess heat in the ocean depths.

The question, of course is whether this will happen before the worst effects of the added heat are manifested.

In the meantime, immediately reducing the rate of additional heat added by reducing the burning of fossil fuels is the only sure way of buying time. The development of renewable energy resources may provide the necessary window to develop real thermodynamic geothermal energy systems.
